Movies are great escape to end the busy workload of an entire week. The things that many movie goers love to see include good stories, great acting, surreal shots and magnificent dialogues. Each film is crafted like a weave. It should withstood the test of any era, leaving a remarkable story. Despite of all the things that can be seen by the naked eye, movies are all about the passion of production team; the sleepless nights; the early call time; the scorching heat of location shoot and the future of the entire film. Each production staff is a witness of how films were made from scratch, more so their families. I grew up witnessing stories of a movie maker; a writer; a director. Papa Larry started his movie career as a movie checker. After gaining new experiences in the movie industry, he became a scriptwriter and last as an assistant director. He is a good friend to many especially to the known action film director, Direk Kaka Balagtas. A poor boy of Tondo conquering the movie industry is not that easy. Direk Uro experienced different challenges until his health slowly deteriorated. It was in year 1995 when Papa Larry got stroke. He wasn't able to continue his passion in film production. He faced his early retirement at home with his family. Life is like a stage. It has its own entrance and exit. Once you are on stage, give your best, feel the applause, conquer the crowd, because once the spotlight turns dim, your time is up. Papa Larry gave his final curtain call last March 26, 2014. His life might be too short, but his legacy and the films he made will continue.
