A prayer that comes from the heart changes everything. No matter where you are, no matter what the circumstances may be, a prayer is your own way of communicating with God. Through prayer, we humbly talk to our Creator. To glorify His wonderful creation, to thank Him for the blessing of life, to ask for His never ending forgiveness and to seek for His guidance and love. I remember a simple prayer taught to us by our dear Alma Mater, Adamson University, and let me share to you this humble prayer that until now, I always keep in me where ever I go: Dear Lord, Teach me the things that are important: To be generous with Your gifts, Compassionate to those who have less, Just in the face of unfair circumstances, True when the world's values contradict my own, Gracious when things don't go my way, And magnanimous when they do. May nothing else matter Except Faith in Your goodness, my neighbor's and mine, Hope that things can get better, And Charity that always set things right. May Your special Love for the Poor, The mark of my uniquely Vincentian education, Be the work I excel in, The standard I constantly refer to, And my courage when I meet You someday. With Mary, our Mother, and St. Vincent de Paul, Amen. Prayer is an invisible string that speaks our hearts to God. Even in the most tragic moment of our lives, a simple prayer that manifests our faith can be heard by our Loving Creator. There are many prayers taught in school and by the church. However, as for my own opinion, the most precious prayer is the one that comes dearly from the heart.
